With Molly and Elle’s friendship left hanging in question, we start season 2 with Molly in London, England facing both her heartbreak from ‘The One’ and her new endometriosis/adenomyosis diagnoses. Back in Toronto, Elle has found herself a member of “Community”, a retreat where she went to recoup after a nervous breakdown. What was meant to be a 2-week mental health break is now going on 5 months... and the fact that it is definitely a cult is clear to everyone but Elle. Meanwhile, the ambitious Jordan has been juggling the ad agency he and Elle had started on his own. But when a high-stakes client requires him to go retrieve Elle he finds a very different version of his old workaholic/party-girl friend. In the meantime, Molly returns to Toronto and must learn how to ask for help in order to receive the surgery and support that she needs and Elle feels like everyone who ever loved her in the real world has abandoned her, and turns all of her co-dependant tendencies to “Community”. As Molly and Elle navigate their unseen illnesses and their paths continue to diverge, a permanent friendship-breakup seems inevitable... or could their paths to self-discovery bring them back together?

Detention Adventure, Season 3

LOGLINE: While waiting for her Google dream job, an ex-Israeli commando teaches a NYC night school philosophy class & uses her eclectic international students as unwitting pawns in her private eye gigs

THEME: Applying classical philosophical to today’s seemingly soulless world takes real effort. But when your professor is an unprincipled, self-absorbed, libertine dreamer, the moral boundaries are stretched to their limits. On the other hand, anything is better than sitting in the classroom being lectured on Confucius’ views on concubines.

Our Dreamer is DEVORAH ZISSA (DeZi) is ex-Israeli Army commando. Her name Hebrew means Sweet Bee & she’s the charismatic Queen bee all the other worker bees swarm around. Her philosophical views are a mix of Machiavelli & Sun Tzu. Dezi was indeed in Israeli Military intelligence but maybe not so successfully. But now that she’s in NYC, it’s all about a new type of battleground warfare: survival.

ZAYA is Dezi’s army BFF & now roommate in a Brooklyn loft full of Israelis called the Kibbutz. A hopeless romantic, Zaya is an aspiring celebrity personal trainer.

RONI KAPLAN (KAPO) is Dezi’s ex commander who owns a cleaning service/private security firm in NYC. Kapo has a complex big brother/misogynist relationship with Dezi but gets her the first few side gigs.

CONCEPT: A virginal master-baker and a self-proclaimed sex goddess team up to open an erotic bakery, only to have their social-climbing arch-nemesis declare a turf war. FORNICAKES is a contemporary web series in the style of Friends meets 2 Broke Girls. At its heart, it is the story of how women, no matter their differences, always have each other’s backs.

The Fornicakes bakery is located in middle America suburbia, where old fashioned ideals are still cool, and the Morality Board regulates town standards. With its divinely decorated erotic-shaped baked goods, FORNICAKES is frequently in conflict with the Morality Board’s mores. Proximity breeds drama and contempt with the COFFEE SHOP next door and the MUFFIN FACTORY across the street.

SERIES OVERVIEW: Neurotic, virginal Jolene and sex-starved Lisa work to dig themselves out of poverty by opening Fornicakes - an erotic bakery where Jolene bakes edible genitalia while recently-divorced Lisa plots to steal her ex-husband Trevor back from their hated former high school rival Blanche. For Jolene and Lisa, it’s not just about pride. It’s about survival. Luckily, they have Daniel, the barista extraordinaire, who runs the coffee shop next door to Fornicakes.

FORNICAKES

AN 8-PART SERIES BASED ON HAMLET BY WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

Hamlet is a clown who has lost all his mirth. The two conspire in hopes of finding out what really happened to their former ringleader.

Hamlet & Ophelia is a love letter to live performance made during a time when performance could not be live. All contributing artists self-taped as individuals or within personal quarantine pods.

“It’s Daisy May” is a 10-episode web series about Daisy May, a girl from the American south who loves talking, making people smile, and singing country music. Daisy is tired of Mama and her life in the trailer park and wants more, so off she goes to the local trash yard, finds a ukulele, starts plucking, and introduces herself to the wide, wide world of the web.

With the help from Donna’s phone (Donna is the best) Daisy imparts all the wisdom she’s learned along the way whilst singing her heart out in the process (music really does soothe the soul).

“It’s Daisy May” mixes the genres of stand-up comedy, musical theatre, and cabaret. And, some might say it’s like a good ole’ fashioned hoe down. Either way, join us. Daisy can’t wait to meet you!

It's Daisy May

Stuck in a dead-end personal assistant job, Kinsley, an ambitious yet unpublished writer, can't write anything other than titles. When an influencer she hate-follows gets a book deal, Kinsley calls her life-like Thoughts out of hibernation to manifest success, boost her ego, and help her finally write her masterpiece. But each Thought vies for control and she finds herself fighting to be heard inside her own mind.

Kinsley Vs.

When the Dumont sisters receive the phone call from their mother, telling them to come home, they can never imagine the darkness that awaits. Upon return, the seemingly innocent family reunion takes a sudden, dark turn as their loyalty and love for one another is put to the ultimate test. Each dealing in their own ways, they must inevitably decide what they are willing to sacrifice for kin.

At its core, Kith & Kin is about family- the sacrifices we are willing to make, the secrets we are willing to keep and the love that ties that all together. It explores our instincts for survival, protection and the cost that we pay for the sins of our Ancestors.

Walkie-Talkie is a witty, semi-autobiographical digital comedy series that follows 24-year-old Katie as she grapples with what it means to be asexual in a world that places such a high value on sex. When all her friends start to prioritize their dating lives over their friendships, Katie embarks on a quest to meet and connect with new people in a non-traditional way: by hiding a walkie-talkie in a new place each week and then going on a walk with the person that finds it. Essentially, she sets herself up on platonic blind dates.

In the pilot, a young man named Adam picks up the walkie-talkie, and he and Katie connect immediately. Their relationship is the heart of the series. Importantly, this is NOT an “I thought I was asexual until I met the right person” story. Since there is no middle ground between having sex and not having sex, Walkie-Talkie explores their complicated relationship with empathy, nuance, and humor.

“The web of our life is of a mingled yarn, good and ill together …” – William Shakespeare, All’s Well That Ends Well

In the midst of the continuing global pandemic, the smaller, more personal tragedies and triumphs can be discounted or minimised. This series, set as Melbourne re-emerged from its 6th (and second longest) lockdown due to Covid-19, shines a light on the little things as our city came slowly back to life. From political machinations for personal gain to relationship issues to mental health challenges to the first tentative steps back to a “normal” life and more, through each episode we are observers of human nature rediscovering itself in the backwash of a global crisis - with some finding their voice and others finding the opposite, still in the overwhelm of it all.

In a world where masks were beginning to be removed (for better or ill) and we came together face-to-face for the first time in a long time – this series explores the myriad of domestic and personal challenges our previous isolation caused or caused us to hide from, as seen through the lens of a wide range of Shakespeare characters, using his original words.

Created & directed by award-winning actor/director, Sally McLean (Shakespeare Republic), produced by Incognita Enterprises, commissioned by the Howard Fine Acting Studio Australia and featuring their 2021 graduating full time acting cohort, this new series officially launched on May 25, 2022. Filmed by the students on smartphones & cameras under McLean’s direction in real time using Zoom calls, the entire series was made during the Melbourne lockdowns of 2021. Most of the students had never performed Shakespeare before working with Sally on this series. To see all episodes, visit https://www.walkingshadows.com.au
