BNM Webfest 2022

Smartphone-addicted millennials fumble through the modern maze of love, sex, and connection as their addictions spiral out of control and into the void of an alien disguised as a human female.

Discontent Season 1

Beth and Courtney are girl-bosses, interior designers and best friends. On this reality TV show, they renovate rooms all in a single day, transforming the lives of their clients forever.

One Room Renovations

What do you do when you cancel your wedding not once but twice due to a global pandemic? Then what do you do when you get pregnant right as your would-be-husband is about to return home to the other side of the world?

ReCANCELLED is a relationship drama – a story about two people caught between two very different worlds while pregnant during a pandemic.

ReCANCELLED

“The web of our life is of a mingled yarn, good and ill together …” – William Shakespeare, All’s Well That Ends Well

In the midst of the continuing global pandemic, the smaller, more personal tragedies and triumphs can be discounted or minimised. This series, set as Melbourne re-emerged from its 6th (and second longest) lockdown due to Covid-19, shines a light on the little things as our city came slowly back to life. From political machinations for personal gain to relationship issues to mental health challenges to the first tentative steps back to a “normal” life and more, through each episode we are observers of human nature rediscovering itself in the backwash of a global crisis - with some finding their voice and others finding the opposite, still in the overwhelm of it all.

In a world where masks were beginning to be removed (for better or ill) and we came together face-to-face for the first time in a long time – this series explores the myriad of domestic and personal challenges our previous isolation caused or caused us to hide from, as seen through the lens of a wide range of Shakespeare characters, using his original words.

Created & directed by award-winning actor/director, Sally McLean (Shakespeare Republic), produced by Incognita Enterprises, commissioned by the Howard Fine Acting Studio Australia and featuring their 2021 graduating full time acting cohort, this new series officially launched on May 25, 2022. Filmed by the students on smartphones & cameras under McLean’s direction in real time using Zoom calls, the entire series was made during the Melbourne lockdowns of 2021. Most of the students had never performed Shakespeare before working with Sally on this series. To see all episodes, visit https://www.walkingshadows.com.au
