The Water Tales podcast is an adventurous journey of ten episodes based on the children’s picture and storybook, “The Water Tales: Ten Life Lessons from My Water Buddy and Family,” created and written by Michele Wise Wright, Ph.D. As soon as each episode starts, listeners will get excited and energetically tap their feet to the My Water Buddy and Family theme song which was written and performed by award-winning songstress and podcast cast member, Shawna Linzy.
This series of 10-15 minute short stories feature the My Water Buddy and Family® anthropomorphic body and organ characters, which tell ten different tales centered around the importance of water and healthy lifestyle choices. These animated characters are Brawny the Muscle (Episode 2 - Water in My Eyes), Whizzy the Brain (Episode 3 - A Water Journal), Boney the Bone (Episode 4 - H2 and O), Pumpy the Heart (Episode 5 - Water Cup Up), Flowy the Blood Drop (Episode 6 - Wily Water Wanderer), Airy and Breezy the Twin Lungs (Episode 7 - One Day in the Life of Water), Tummy the Stomach (Episode 8 - O Taste and See), Gushy and Flushy the Twin Kidneys (Episode 9 - Water, Water Everywhere), and every body’s best friend, My Water Buddy (Episode 1 - The Water Glass Half Empty), who holds them all together (Episode 10 - Water is Every Body’s Best Friend)!
Each tale is cleverly built around each of the eleven members of My Water Buddy and Family who are all focused on the beneficial impact of water on our bodies, the earth, the environment, and the extended family of all living species. In addition to motivating young listeners and their parents to drink water, the stories tap into life topics important to children: autism, bullying, fears, self-esteem, peer pressure, and more.
